Bangkok Adventures

If you would like to see more of our posts about Family Travel, just click HERE!

Our family is composed of five very different souls, definitely the most adventurous are Big Kiddo and G, then come me and Small Kiddo who also loves going out and Teen Kiddo who pretty much just likes the malls and the bookstores.  I´m sure she inherited the whole staying home and watching series on the computer from me, but she looks at her One Direction tumblr dashboard for hours on end and knows way too much trivia about each of those teenager british boyband members. Just recently she said that she finally felt like she was finally in Bangkok. It sure took her a while! I´m sure it´s normal and it made her feel better that our friend C said it took him a year to get used to living in Thailand when he lived here....

"I want to go someplace new!"

Anyway, lets return to the adventurous little toddler who keeps us all on our toes.  Lately, we´ve been having a complicated and interesting (and adorable) problem, when we ask Big Kiddo what he wants to do, he says, "I want to go somewhere new" sometimes he will add, "somewhere far" and other times "to eat chicken". This is obviously a challenge, now that he and his dad have pretty much walked the entire city of Bangkok, from one end of the map to another. Today he really got a treat, they left the house really early and rode the BTS Bangkok Skytrain to a station that they had never been before, from there they walked all around Thonburi, a neighborhood completely new to him, crossed the Chao Praya river on a blue metal bridge that he had never seen and then all across Hindu town and Chinatown (these he knew already so he didn´t even look at the Wat Traimit and other sites that he used to get excited about). When they finally made it to Hualampong train station, five hours and 10 kilometers later, what did Big Kiddo say? "I want to go on a train somewhere far!" Oh dear.....

UPDATE: December, 2014...
Teen Kiddo missed Peru too much so she went back and is happier than ever. Big Kiddo has gotten used to the Phuket House and is a bit out of practice, but one block out with dad and he's back to his un-tiresome adventurous self!

UPDATE: April, 2015...
Big Kiddo still loves adventures but now it´s about getting to preschool in the mornings. Small Kiddo is going too. So why are they going to school anyway?
