This April it will be two years that we are living in Colombo, Sri Lanka. For the past few months I have been writing about the best of Sri Lanka for The Culture Trip.

It’s true that I haven’t written much about Sri Lanka here on Crazy Little Family Adventure
and that is because I have been busy working! Yes, working from home, writing and designing. Well now that I’ve written about 80 articles about the best of Sri Lanka on The Culture Trip, might as well share some of them with you!

Here are my favorite ten articles. Just click on image and you’ll be redirected.

About the Indigenous Veddas of Sri Lanka

The Indigenous Veddas have been in Sri Lanka since the Neolithic Era. Read this article if you want to know more about their way of life and why they might be going extinct. Astor went hunting with them at Gal Oya Lodge!

11 Things about the Culture in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is a special kind of culture. There are lots of things I could have included in this article, but in this case I had to stick to eleven. Click on the image to find out what they are. My absolute favorite is the Poya Holiday.

Favorite Spots for Digital Nomas in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is quickly becoming a Digital Nomad hotspot. Maybe eventually they will have a Digital Nomad Visa like in Thailand! I also wrote an article about favorite Diginomad spots in Colombo. So I guess you can read both if you are really interested in choosing Sri Lanka as your next laptop lifestyle destination.

UNESCO Sites in Sri Lanka

There is quite a nice collection of UNESCO site in Sri Lanka, in this article I showcase eight of them. Most are temples and religious sites of course! The fortress city of Galle is pretty unique though.

About the Fashions in Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan Contemporary fashion is on the rise and the designers are really rocking it out of the park. Check out this article if you are interested in how this island country is growing via their fashions. I love the contemporary Batik!

Sri Lanka “on set”

I love this one! Sri Lanka was a movie set for years back in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Duran Duran did three videos here in the 80’s. Click through to check out some of the films and music videos shot in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan Contemporary Artists

Contemporary Art in Sri Lanka is highly affected by the Civil War that lasted about 30 years. Here are some of the most influential artists that you should definitely know about.

Sri Lankan Poya Day

Every full moon is a public holiday in Sri Lanka. I will never ever forget this. It’s just so very quirky. One year it landed on the same day as Christmas. That was quite interesting.

Sri Lankan Head Wobble

People in Sri Lanka wobble and bobble their head a lot when they talk. There are different kinds of wobbles and I have even started doing it.

Sri Lankan Jewelry

I love these talented group of jewelers! Do check out their beautiful work and get some Sri Lankan jewellery for yourself!
