Planning Ahead and a Fear of Failure

It’s almost the end of the year and it’s time to get organized for the next one. Are you setting things up for 2016? For your life? Your blog?

I haven’t had an agenda or a planner in years, and when I did have one I only used it to write down the time I had to be somewhere on filming days. And maybe doctors appointments.

I don’t make lists.
If I do, I lose them or make them really long and can never get all the items ticked off. A couple of times I tried and then forgot where I had put the list or in which notebook.

After thinking a lot about this, and seeing so much stuff going around about Blog Planners and New Year’s resolutions I started to freak out. I am part of the Have Your Cupcake members group and the December challenge is about, you guessed it, Planning! I totally started panicking.

Fear of Failure

Lists, planners, vision boards, wall calendars, desk calendars, diy notebook agendas, blog planners; all these things give me hives.

My brain always has ideas, great wonderful beautiful ideas. I am also a huge procrastinator, and suffer from debilitating Impostor’s Syndrome.
Do I have to expand on this? I think it’s pretty straight forward, I am terrified of failing my own plans.

Blog Planning

Have your Cupcake is the best thing I’ve ever done for my blog and I love everything I learn there. December is all about planning, and then making money with your blog. I have the brain confrontation that how can I blog plan if I don’t even life plan! Can I really do this? Can I be organized enough to have editorial calendars and blogger plans like that?

I am a very visual person so what I’m going to do is take over a wall in the Art Room and map out my life. That whole just blog panning idea makes me feel inadequate, there is so much more going on in my life that I should be planning for.

Wish me luck, I’m off to the Stationery Store for supplies!

This week I am co-hosting the Write Tribe’s #MondayMusings with Corinne and Vinitha.  We invite you do write a #MondayMusings post on your blog. Just share your thoughts with us – happy, sad, philosophical, ‘silly’ even. Use the hashtag #MondayMusings and then add your link here or on the co-hosts’ posts.  We would love to read your thoughts.
