Laos is not your usual destination

When travelers think of Laos, the first place that comes to mind is the little town of Luang Prabang. It is in fact, one of the nicest places to spend a few weeks or months in.

Luang Prabang is a little town on a peninsula overlooking the Mekong and Nam Kan rivers.

Even though Luang Prabang is amazing, the capital Vientiane is worth a visit too. The kids will love visiting all the temples and spending time with the student monks you are generally very friendly.

Our Laos worldschooling Experience

When we first chose the destinations for our worldschooling life, Laos was the first stop. When people asked where we were going, we said, Laos. Of course, everyone was surprised.

Laos is a small country nestled between Vietnam and Thailand. There are still thousands of unexploded bombs in the mountains and countryside of Laos from the war in Vietnam. Thankfully, the places where most people live are quite safe. Nevertheless there are plenty of people working to make the rest of the country just as safe.

We stayed in Luang Prabang, Laos for four months are really enjoyed it. When it was time for Antigona to be born we moved on over to Thailand for the commodity of city hospitals.
